New Ownership Promises Expansion for Biz Expo Ireland event

The Biz Expo SME event has revealed new owners in the form of Bronagh Cotter, director of BCS Recruitment and Careers Unlimited, a Dublin-based event company controlled by Kevin Branigan, CEO of Radio Nova and. The group has taken over the venture from Barbara Gordon of business directory Whatswhat.ie, who has run the annual event since 2011.

Careers Unlimited operates events such as the Jobs Expo Ireland and Construction Jobs Expo events as well as online course listings directories Courses.ie and Nightcourses.com. The company is also in the recruitment space with BCS Recruitment.

The duo now intends to invest in the event to further establish it in the B2B space.

“Biz Expo was born from a desire to bring businesses together to network and exhibit to each other, all under one roof. We want our exhibitors to make profitable business connections and generate real sales. New ideas and investment will further grow the event and ensure that all exhibitors continue to have the best services possible. We intend to take Biz Expo to the next level this year by expanding the portfolio of exhibitors, attendees and activities within the event”, said Cotter.

Branigan says, “Biz Expo offers a fantastic way for corporates and SMEs to network and grow sales. with decision makers. We intend to grow on the success of the event to date by investing in exhibition content, growing footfall and making it a key B2B communication forum for existing and emerging markets”.

The company’s Jobs Expo event attracts upwards of 30,000 qualified candidates per year to its bi-annual events in Dublin, Cork and Galway, while Construction Jobs Expo, now in its second year, aims to bring up to 8,000 to Croke Park in May.

Biz Expo 2019 will take place at Citywest Hotel & Convention Centre on 6th June.
