Job Objectives

We are currently seeking applications from experienced Occupational Therapists interested in joining the expanding Occupational Therapy team within Nua Healthcare. The Occupational Therapist will be based in the newly developed low secure mental health service working alongside a diverse multidisciplinary team. Candidates must demonstrate the necessary interest, capability, performance and enthusiasm in line with the requirements of this role.

Skills Required

Essential Criteria required for the post:

  • Have a recognised qualification as an Occupational Therapist with CORU registration
  • Have atleast three years relevant post qualification experience as an Occupational Therapist in adult mental health services working alongside a multidisciplinary team
  • Experience in developing and running therapeutic services and programmes including occupation based and psycho-educational groups
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health presentations
  • Knowledge of the Judgement Support Framework and experience supporting compliance with same
  • Knowledge of individual care planning and experience contributing to individual risk assessment
  • Have a desire to support the ongoing development of the occupational therapy team with a willingness to engage in service development and quality improvement initiatives
  • Have excellent communication and team-working skills
  • Have excellent time management skills and the ability to work in a self-directed manner in a dynamic fast paced environment

Desired criteria for the post:

  • ‘Assessment of Motor Process Skills’ trained and calibrated
  • Experience working in low secure mental health services
  • Knowledge of writing reports for Ward of Court reviews
