Job Descriptions



Purpose:

The role of the Accommodation Assistant is to ensure that the premises is kept clean, tidy and to an acceptable standard by practicing diligent housekeeping duties on a consistent basis.

Reporting Hierarchy:

The Accommodation Assistant will report directly into the Accommodation Supervisor, followed by the Accommodation Manager and then finally the Facilities Manager.

Roles and Responsibilities:

The Accommodation Assistant will:

  • Clean corridors, i.e., glass (fire doors) doors handle, and any other furniture that is on the corridors and stairways.

  • Clean lobby area i.e., by hoovering carpets and cleaning tables, skirting boards, hight dust, glass doors, windows, chairs, cushions and empty bins etc.

  • Clean and maintain cleanliness of all floors, walls, windows, glass and surfaces of corridors, common areas, nurse’s station, resident rooms, staff room, offices, storage areas, stairwells, bathrooms, and lifts.

  •  Recognise cleaning tasks and prioritise cleaning

  • Be mindful of supply use and avoid waste.

  • Keep checklists and reports up to date as per supervisor’s request.

  • Complete all accommodation related tasks as requested from management.

  • Have a comprehensive knowledge of the appropriate use of various cleaning materials and detergents.

  • Ensure proper clean and care of equipment.

  • Report any maintenance issues or lost property to your supervisor.

  • Greet and acknowledge guests that you meet throughout your working day.

  • Deal with any guest queries in a professional and friendly manner.

  • Coordinating with other the other accommodation assistants to keep the area clean.

  • General duties such as the cleaning of common areas.

  • Following the hygiene and safety standards set out both in company policy and the legislation.

  • Perform weekly deep cleaning tasks as per instructions of supervisors.

  • Liaising with laundry to ensure quality standards are being met.

  • Task management and prioritisation.

  • Taking part in mandatory company training and showing a commitment to continued personal development.

  • Reporting incidents and issues to supervisors and management.

  • General duties such as the cleaning of common areas.

  • Following the hygiene and safety standards set out both in company policy and the legislation.

  • Liaising with laundry to ensure quality standards are being met.

  • Taking part in mandatory company trainings and showing a commitment to continued personal development.
