ESB
The
Renewables Projects section within the ESB Engineering and Major
Projects (EMP) business unit provides project management and engineering
services in support of renewable power generation for ESB and external
clients. Renewable projects include onshore wind, offshore wind, solar
PV and battery storage. Our projects range from major utility scale
offshore wind farms over 1GW to small distributed solar projects or
battery projects.
This
role involves working in partnership with Asset Development to develop
projects as the business case evolves and progress projects based on
risks and opportunities. Wind energy, offshore wind in particular, has
been identified as a key part of ESB’s strategy to increase renewable
generation capacity to 5GW by 2030. Projects are expected to be
developed from a number of sources including development opportunities
and acquisitions. Given the differing requirements, EMP will develop
flexible solutions to meet these requirements and is required to adapt
to the changing environment of renewable project development.
A
Wind Engineer is required to provide technical support to ESB projects,
both domestic and international. We are looking for a highly analytical
individual who is capable of running key processes and analysing large
volumes. Ideally this individual will have energy analysis experience
but at a minimum will be familiar with wind resource assessment and/or
wind forecasting. Excellent communication skills are a key requirement
to help build strong relations with stakeholders, allowing delivery and
communication of results in an efficient manner.
Key Responsibilities
Responsibilities may cover the items listed below. All the items refer to both Onshore and Offshore wind projects.
