The role is working in the Buying Team within the Consumer Division. This is a 12 month Fixed Term Contract.

 

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Source/deliver product ranges in line with category growth opportunities.
  • Responsible for the following categories Dental, Accessories, Baby Care, Christmas, Cosmetics, Self Tan & Skincare
  • Support the implementation of a long term buying / selling strategy focused on sales & margin growth.
  • Manage relationship with key agency brands such as Bioderma and agree and implement sales and marketing strategy to deliver the sales and margin budget for the brand
  • Develop and execute end to end Uniphar Christmas gifting offering for the Irish Pharmacy market for Christmas 2024
  • Develop and manage supplier relationships, agreeing Joint business plans and marketing support on a quarterly / annual basis.
  • Use tools available to maximize visibility of the key brands both in the monthly catalogue and on the Uniphar website.
  • Responsible for ensuring products are available in a timely manner to meet retailer range windows and promotional timelines – Allcare promotional drops etc.
  • Working closely with the cross functional team to identify pricing and product issues and implement solutions.
  • Manage customer & manufacturer queries and ensure they are logged and dealt with in a professional, timely manner.
  • Identify new products and range gaps. Research emerging trends and opportunities in the retail pharmacy market.
  • Demonstrate a clear understanding of our competitors and their product offerings.
  • Work with the cross functional team and key suppliers in developing product presenters, training and marketing materials.
  • Attending trade shows home / abroad.
  • Manage inventory levels of products across key categories in the business
  • Actively participate and contribute to business development and project initiatives as required.
  • Any further duties that may be assigned and deemed to fall within the remit of the role.

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Strong buying experience is essential
  • Retail, pharmaceutical or FMCG background is preferred.
  • Hard working capable person who uses their initiative.
  • Must have clean drivers license and access to a car.
