Job Descriptions

 

This role is 5/5 shift position and is based onsite in our warehouse in Annacotty, Limerick.

 

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

 

Maintenance and repair of automated equipment and systems:

  • Complete preventive maintenance on equipment
  • Review and improve maintenance routines
  • Carry out repairs to equipment when failures occur.
  • Typical equipment will include the following;
  • Automatic storage and retrieval system
  • Printing and Labelling equipment
  • Conveying systems
  • Mechanical lifting/de-stacking machines
  • Fridge and freezers
  • Building services and facilities, including a HVAC systems
  • Co-ordinate the electro-mechanical repairs to high-speed, PLC-controlled plant, handling and packaging equipment, also pneumatic control systems
  • Co-ordinate the scheduling and performance of PM routines
  • Support Production Team in achieving targets
  • Update and Use of Handover procedure. Complete handover sheet and relay contents to Eng Mgr and incoming shift.
  • Closely monitor line and machine performance and intervene on line as soon as any deterioration in performance occurs
  • Work with equipment suppliers on new equipment and installations and modifications
  • To be observant & work off your own initiative when a fault is detected & to take action based on your best judgment on whether to effect immediate repair or not
  • Co-operate and participate fully in training and development in cross-skilling and other job-related competencies
  • Update the maintenance management system &records of all changes, stores transactions made and work carried out
  • Troubleshooting using PLC Programs
  • Responsible for completion of planned work, shifts daily input of all works, parts booked out of stores and control of breakdowns
  • Any other task within capability as determined by the Company
  • Meet matrix targets and KPI’s determined by Internal customer
  • Other responsibilities may be added as deemed necessary for the effective operation of the engineering team

 

Safety:

  • Carry out regular safety audits of the equipment and systems in all sections of the plant, using whatever resources are necessary to effect corrections. Ensure that proper authorisations are obtained for all outside contract works and materials. Ensure that the Health and Safety regulations and policies are adhered to at all times and report any infringements of these regulations immediately.

 

New Equipment install and commissioning:

  • Complete installation and commissioning of new equipment. Support Validation team to complete equipment validation. Specify and recommend new equipment for install or replacement.

 

Maintenance of facility systems and equipment:

  • Support the facilities team in preventive maintenance and repair on mechanical/electrical equipment associated with a semi-automated warehouse

 

Standard Operating Procedures:

  • Write up engineering procedures for the equipment for which he/she is responsible.

 

Quality:

  • Execute all work in compliance with the relevant quality systems.

 

 

Key Skills & Experiences

  • Be a qualified tradesperson – Mechanical/Electrical, or relevant automation/maintenance experience.
  • Have experience with a computerised maintenance scheduling system, and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Windows and WMS diagnostics(Training provided)
  • Be experienced in equipment maintenance and engineering.
  • Have experience with PLC and machine logic.
  • Be familiar with motors and the general motor maintenance and replacement.
  • Have some experience with Pneumatics.
  • 2 years experience in a high volume automation environment. Working knowledge of Pneumatics, PLC's and Sensors.
