Job Description

We are looking for experienced Engineers to join our Yield Department.  We lead the semiconductor industry by creating innovative technologies. Yield department is responsible for the quality of products being produced. The department covers various roles including Integration engineering, Device engineering, Quality and Reliability engineering, Low yield analysis, Materials and Failure Analysis Labs, Statistical analysis and Micro-contamination. . We are looking to hire experienced candidates in these areas.

  • You will work with cross department teams to solve problems across multiple disciplines including Semiconductor materials, Semiconductor devices & circuits, materials characterisation, microprocessor architecture, and Nanotechnology.
  • You will be working on leading edge semiconductor technology in one of the most highly automated wafer fabrication facilities in the world.
  • You will help identify innovative solutions using problem-solving tools, data extraction, machine learning and data analysis skills to drive continuous improvement for our product yields, product reliability and product performance/Watt specifications.
  • Partner with our 24/7 technician team to troubleshoot quality issues to facilitate sustaining operations.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with your team/organization which will improve the performance of the area.
  • Work with VF (Virtual Factory) partners to implement change across our worldwide factory network.

Other requirements include but not limited to:

  • Establishing reliability risk assessments for technologies
  • Providing technical inputs on the design of package assembly test vehicles.
  • Designing and executing experiments to identify reliability failure mechanisms.
  • Extraction and statistical analysis of reliability data to enable prediction of field reliability performance.
  • Communicating quality and reliability results, risks and recommendations.
  • Collaborating with integration and mechanical core comp teams for achieving required levels of product reliability.
  • Developing improved QR methods and business processes based on structured methods including Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, and other methods.
  • Responsible for identifying and researching component failures to support Assembly and Test Technology Development, i.e. assembly materials/process development, quality and reliability.
  • Evaluate electrical, thermal and mechanical characteristics of packaging to determine the failure mechanism and root cause.
  • Conduct hands on lab work, deliver quality FA/reports to meet commitment, and recommend corrective actions/fixes.
  • Other duties include developing innovative techniques/approaches to accelerate failure identification and mechanism understanding, supporting technology transfer to high volume manufacturing, plus performing other related duties as required.


Qualifications

You must have a minimum of a Level 8 Degree in a Science or Engineering discipline (Bachelors (L8) Masters (L9) or PhD (L10)) which would include but not exclusively

Physics and Device Physics, Electronic Engineering, Materials Science, Nanotechnology, Computer Science, Chemical Engineering and Maths/Statistics/Data Analysis

Competencies/Experience Required

4+ years relevant work experience

Research or Semiconductor processing experience with advanced transistor device structures and architectures including fabrication (e.g. lithography, etch, film deposition, cleans, chemical-mechanical planarization etc.).

In-depth working knowledge of semiconductor device physics and process integration.

Process control systems, statistical and data analysis skills (MATLAB, Excel, JMP, Python etc.) with ability to construct clear data-based problem statements.
