Summary: The Production Supervisor will be responsible and have the authority to manage a range of
product lines within the manufacturing area, ensuring all manufacturing KPI’s in terms of Quality, Safety,
quantity and costs are met. These goals will be achieved through fostering and facilitating real
teamwork and empowerment among product line team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Supervise and direct personnel in assigned area of responsibility to achieve required outputs at
100% efficiencies.
• Maintain acceptable level of quality by ensuring adherence to all internal specifications, SOP’s
and any other relevant documentation.
• Communicate and liaise regularly and effectively with all personnel on product lines, along with
other Departments as required ie (QA, Materials, Finance, Engineering), displaying tact and
professionalism in all communications.
• Enforce discipline around safety on production floor at all times.
• Implement tactical solutions to simple problems encountered.
• Manage production records.
• Develop a positive employee relations culture within manufacturing by facilitating the concept
of teamwork and total employee involvement.
• Develop training plans and skills matrix for areas of responsibilities.
• Manage personal time and prioritise individual action items.
• Pursue a programme of personal self-development in partnership with Manufacturing Manager.
• Document all Accidents and incidents.
• Be prepared to deputise for Production Manager when required.
• Conduct regular routine audits of assigned areas ensuring adherence to company
policy/procedures in regard to Safety, GPM and Quality methods.
• Direct responsibility for ensuring the Environment Management Systems is executed.
• Ensuring employees follow Environmental Health and Safety procedures and monitor and
encourage good employee work practices.
• Carry out employee appraisals in a timely manner.
• Conform to the requirements of the quality and environmental management system
• Additional ad hoc duties and projects as assigned
"• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification is essential.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt Certification is desirable.
• Excellent Interpersonal and Relationship Skills.
• Ability to work as a team and collaborate with other in Production and other departments.
• Strong Computer Literacy, proficient in MS Office.
• Excellent Leadership and coaching skills.
• Budget Management and Financial Planning experience.
• Production Planning experience with the ability to adapt to production needs and plan for and
implement changes accordingly. "
