Gateway Community Care
We are currently seeking applications from Social Care Workers interested in joining a team within this new service. The position requires a high degree of understanding and commitment to the individual service users and their families. The prime consideration at all times must be the interests and well-being of the individuals availing of our service.
The successful candidate will be expected to deliver effective, efficient, and quality assured care to all its service users.
Position Available: Full Time Permanent/Part Time or Relief
The ideal candidate will have:
· Be passionate to work and support individuals with intellectual disabilities.
· knowledge of Person-Centred planning.
· Have proven organisational, leadership, communication, interpersonal and teambuilding skills.
· Be committed to pro-actively supporting service users in their daily lives and choices.
· Experience working with families, clinicians and building links in the community.
· Experience implementing positive support programmes.
· Experience in focusing on promoting independence and community integration.
· Knowledge of current social care policies and sectoral and national changes related to disability services.
· The capacity to follow, assess, and participate to the continual development of strategies and tactics for meeting the ongoing requirements of those being supported.
· Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills.
· Strong report writing skills.
Rostering requirements: shifts rotations (12-hour shifts) will include Days, Live Nights, Weekends, and flexibility is required.
Essential Qualifications Required:
QQI Level 7 Bachelor of Arts or higher in Applied Social Studies/Social Care or level 8 Psychology relevant qualification.
Full Irish driving license.
Flexible availability - including weekend work, day shifts and sleepover shifts
