PURPOSE OF THE JOB

· To keep the Short, Mid & Long Term Maintenance planning for the ASLB fleet updated and optimizing Mx checks across the lease term, within the Maintenance limits, Customer requirements and MRO slot availability.

· Optimize (per aircraft) the standard A-/C/-Heavy check packaging whereby the OOP/AD/HT/Mod task are spread across pre-defined maintenance limits, avoiding creating extra downtime and balancing the (non)-routine manhours, to ensure predictable downtimes and costs.

· To prepare executable work packages to ASLB standards, in close cooperation with Engineering, Logistics and MRO’s, that fit the downtime, ensure the timely availability of required manpower/skills, materials/kits, instructions and a milestone planning.

· To optimize department activities on request/behalf Manager Maintenance Planning & Support.

· To support/manage special projects/studies for the Tech Department to optimize processes/output..



KEY ACTIVITIES

Main tasks and responsibilities

· Define, maintain and distribute the (short, mid and long term) maintenance planning for the entire ASLB fleet based on aircraft utilization and for Aircraft base maintenance, Engines, APU and Landing Gear Shop Visits.

· Define, maintain for AD-/ engine-/component- overhaul/fleet campaigns the downtimes, integrate them in the short/mid/long term planning optimized to minimize downtimes and costs.

· Define a detailed budget for Base/Light Maintenance cost for the coming year, based on preliminary work scopes, and using the maintenance standards database (man-hours, TAT, time lines jobs).

· Continuously optimize Base Maintenance Planning (packaging, combination or OOP/AD etc tasks, downtimes, manhours) in lieu of the changing network requirements, maximize aircraft availability, minimize maintenance cost and operational disruption risk and in compliance with quality & safety.

· Define and keep updated the maintenance time line for each leased aircraft with the most important maintenance events from phase-in to phase out and in compliance with AMP and redelivery conditions.

· On request, support with managing projects, take-over (planning, NCRs) meetings with Customer/MROs and/or if required support to manage department topics during absence N+1.

· To support Mx Planning and Aircraft Scheduling with the preparation of the seasonal tail assignment as such that Aircraft are assigned to routes as such that the Aircraft utilization is equally spread across aircraft in the fleet in between the per AMP defined Maintenance Checks/Special events.

· To coordinate with the contracted MRO and Technical Representative to highlight the (critical) planned maintenance (tasks) and prepare a customized milestone planning for the base maintenance check to ensure a predictable control of manhours, downtime and cost.

· When applicable, to monitor contracted engineering compliance to contractual agreement in regard to Base maintenance Bill of Work buildup, and data-packs processing.

· To control ordering and availability of the required material for the selected tasks by the MRO or alternate source, at the correct location, in a timely manner.

· To participate to the Reliability meeting, suggest improvement actions with Base Maintenance experience and follow-up decided improvement actions during base maintenance events.

· To perform the quality check on the work pack (BOW, Dirty Finger Prints, Certification documents…) according to the agreed standards and procedures, unless outsourced.

· Ensure that financial and operational objectives are met by developing/optimizing relevant KPI’s, the measuring thereof and preparation/distribution regular reports

· Support the department heads with meetings, minutes, ensure for action plans the set tasks and deadlines are set/communicated.

· To support/manage special projects/studies for the Tech Department to optimize processes/output, e.g; optimization monthly KPI report, cost optimization/work smart/sustainability initiatives, (IT) innovations, etc..

Project supervision

· To contribute to all special such as:

o Prepare AMP tasks and letter checks Escalations and Variations. Afterwards, to monitor such variations in order to ensure rectification is performed before the established limit.

o Prepare bridging checks content for aircraft phase in and/or out.



REQUIREMENT & QUALIFICATIONS

· Academically Bachelor or Master in Engineering or similar by experience

· At least 5 (five) years’ experience in an aviation maintenance, CAMO or (Mx) Planning environment.

· Experience with the specific aircraft type(s) is an asset

· Good knowledge of EASA & FAA regulations.

· Skills for taking lead with ability to motivate and direct a group/team.

· Good analytical skills, solution and customer orientation

· To be rigorous, precise, well organized to meet targets, proactive, etc.

· To take initiative to propose areas of improvement.

· Team-player, good communication skills with all levels in the organization and at suppliers/MRO’s.

· Ability to function successfully in a pressure environment.

· Negotiation and convincing skills

· Computer literate, MS Office with good administration skills.

· Good command of the English and French language (written and spoken).

· To display a positive, open and cooperative behaviour in order to facilitate a good relationship inside and outside the department, avoid and help to solve conflicts.

· To maintain a professional office environment with due regard to confidentiality and security of aircraft data.


TERMS AND CONDITIONS

· Available to travel abroad from time to time.

· Demand for personal flexibility and operational stress management

· Although this position is in normal office hours, the job requires a certain level of flexibility and occasionally the need to be available outside office hours (and in weekends, bank holidays, night hours) to handle emergency calls and interventions. The position holder is equipped with a laptop and a cell phone provided to him/her as per company guide lines to enable him/her to handle these emergencies without the need to come to the office outside regular hours.
