Primary Role:
Deliver high quality, safe, effective, person-centred care and services to all Service Users.
Support PIC and house team in the delivery of high quality, safe, effective, person-centred care and services to all Service Users.
Act Up in the absence of the Team Leader, taking full responsibility for the role.
Deputy Team Leaders may be requested to fulfil Person Participating in Management (PPIM) role within the Centre.
Support people who use the service:
Promote & nurture person centered planning using key worker systems and shared goal setting, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Identify supports and work in partnership with the individual, their family and other supports as outlined within individual plans
Support the development and implementation of relevant docs outlining supports for individuals including: personal plans, standard operating procedures etc.
Support and promote maximum opportunities for community involvement for people who use the service.
Responsible for the overall growth and direction of the community home in accordance with the ethos, values and mission statement of Nua Healthcare Services.
Leadership and Team Work
Assist PIC to Lead and develop staff teams through best practice performance management systems and supports, dealing with any issues/difficulties relating to staff as they arise.
Assist PIC to Lead staff team to work constructively. Motivating staff and service users, as appropriate.
Assist PIC is managing all aspects of the quality and safety management system. This involves all aspects of incident, accident and complaint management and the implementation, monitoring and closeout of actions arising from audits, inspections and incidents/accidents/complaints.
Encourage development of self and others through staff appraisal process and monthly supervision.
Alongside PIC, identify training needs with staff team and facilitate adherence at training as necessary.
Work in a way that ensures the service is delivered in compliance with relevant legislation, Nua Healthcare’s values, policies and practices and contractual requirements.
Promote, monitor and maintain health and safety and security in the workplace in line with policies and procedures.
The post of Deputy Team Leader spans the entire scope of Nua Healthcare services. Deputy Team Leaders may, in the course of their duty, work in day, residential and respite services
Communications
Assist PIC in compiling and presenting reports as required.
Maintain strict confidentiality in relation to staff and service users.
Organisational Skills
Assist PIC with unit budgets and service user accounts
Assist PIC with Rosters, Annual leave, etc.
Assist PIC Staff deployment and service driven rostering
Assist PIC organising necessary meetings and arranging cover for same
Ensure the safety and maintenance of assigned facilities to include house, vehicles and equipment.
Ensure the adherence of Safe Administration of Medication Practices with the home including ordering, storage, administration and docs (including Individual Medication Management Plans, Kardex and Error Reports)
Qualifications
Essential:
Degree in Social Studies (or suitable equivalent relevant qualification) or working towards
Full, Clean Driver’s License
Desirable:
Prior experience in a similar role
Experience in managing a service for individuals with Autism, Asperger’s, Intellectual Disabilities and/or Mental Health.
