What You Can Expect

Manage raw material supply for the Shannon Plant, including both intercompany & third-party supply.  

How You Create Impact
  • Manage RM supply including Intercompany & Third Party weekly.
  • Manage MRP workbench weekly, raise POs / XTs in line with MRP requirements. Reschedule & expedite where necessary.   Resolve problems that arise in relation to delivery dates, quality, specifications, quantity, or cost of purchased goods or services.
  • Escalate any potential risks to supply through Tier Meetings & in a timely fashion.
  • Review SS levels quarterly & adjust as necessary in alignment with the supplier.
  • Manage Supplier OTIF metric for the SNN site for Raw Materials. Clearly understand reasons for miss and drive RCA with suppliers for negative trends.  
  • Manage & report monthly on Inventory performance to plan (Turns & Dollars)
  • Review PPV monthly & root cause any discrepancies.
  • Attend Supplier Quarterly Business Reviews with Supplier Quality, Engineering & Operations.
  • Work with Global Sourcing & relevant commodity managers to ensure all pricing is current and accurate.
  • Reviews discrepant invoices in a timely fashion which are not in complete agreement with purchase order and resolves discrepancies.
  • Annually support budgeting activities to ensure RM Standard Cost is aligned with
  • Build a strong working relationship with all stakeholders including Planning, Operations, Global Sourcing, Finance & Supplier Quality
  • Ensures that all activities follow company policies and practices.
  • May participate, along with Materials Manager, in internal meetings in the development of strategy and negotiations as a member of a Sourcing team.
  • Fully conversant with commercial and personal codes of ethical behavior.
  • May be required to do supplier scheduling – maintain purchase order acknowledgment control system lead time maintenance and interface with material planners/master schedulers, buyers, quality control, engineering, suppliers, etc.
What Will Make You Stand Out

Third level degree in Business, Finance, Engineering or related field and 3+ years experience in purchasing & negotiations or equivalent.

  • Prior experience purchasing raw materials and packaging. Knowledge of raw material market a plus.
  • Working knowledge of purchasing and planning systems. Knowledge of accounting principles and budgeting practices. Proficiency with personal computers and software including Microsoft office suite products. Organizational, communication, and quick learning skills are required. Experience with J.D. Edwards, SAP or similar ERP software is a plus.
