Job Specification:

HANNON TRANSPORT is one of Ireland’s leading international refrigerated and general hauliers dealing with the daily transportation of chilled, frozen and dry freight.

 Our Ideal Person

Are you well organised and have good attention to detail looking to join a growing, progressive company who has a high level of commitment to customer service. In this role, the successful candidate will need to be constantly on the ball adjusting live operations as required and be able to communicate effectively with our drivers. You will work within the transport team and will involve all aspect of the transport administration processes and coordination.

 Duties and Responsibilities

  • Night Operations Oversight: As part of this role, you’ll be keeping a watchful eye on the operations throughout the night. Your responsibility is to ensure that everything proceeds smoothly according to plan. Night shifts can be both challenging and fascinating.
  • Unaccompanied Trailers: These are trailers that arrive at Dublin port without a driver. Your task will be to manage these trailers efficiently.
  • Outbound Trailers: On the flip side, you’ll also handle trailers that need to leave Dublin port unaccompanied. These trailers might be loaded with goods destined for various places. Your role here is crucial: making sure they’re dispatched promptly and safely.
  • Driver Coordination: Arranging drivers to collect / ship out trailers.

 

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Previous experience of working within the transport industry.
  • Previous customer service experience essential, over the telephone and on email.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Excellent organisational skills and prioritising workload.
  • Working to deadlines.
  • Able to work as part of a team and on own initiative.
